HOW IT STARTED
Born from the Front Lines of School Mental Health
After years as a school-based mental health therapist, Elena Labastida saw a recurring pattern of drama roles — Victim, Fixer, and Critic — disrupting student growth, staff cohesion, and school culture. What began as a tool to guide group therapy has grown into a full-scale, tiered curriculum and leadership training system for schools.

Elena Labastida is a bilingual licensed marriage and family therapist with over 15 years of experience supporting students, educators, and families.
She has served in school districts in Southern California and brings deep insight into trauma, communication styles, and the mental health needs of school communities.

As founder of ELab Consulting and creator of the Drama to Empowerment: Transformation Triangle Curriculum, Elena is passionate about helping schools implement practical, scalable SEL systems that align with MTSS and equity goals.
